So I've been trying to lose weight, and from everything I've found running seems to be the answer. Because I've enlisted certain people to motivate me, I've created this little site to track my progress.
Overall I'm going to try and squeeze running in on the off-days between dragon boat practice, with Friday's as my day off. This means running on Tuesday, Thursday and Sundays.

| 2008/10/23 | So I realize it's been about 3 months since I've updated this. Actually, it's been 3 months and a day. Wow. Oddly enough I have been running, albeit not as much. Update to all this is that dragon boat season completion coincided with the fall coming in, and when I tried to run when fall "began" I was unable to run more than a kilometer without gasping for breath. I've finally seen the doctor and they think that the combination of environmental allergies from my house plus the colder weather is the "trigger" for my exercise induced asthma -- which would explain why I could suddenly not run when practicies had finished.. The temperature was simply too cold (even though it is only about 5 degrees colder). That said, I've started some new breathing techniques and I've "allergy proofed" my room which has helped a lot. I finally started running today (2008/10)23) and I'll be tracking stuff again.. Wish me luck. | |||

I did a constant 6.43 km/h from the get-go, only stopping once to adjust my headphones. I didn't realize I was so close to 5 km because the treadmills at my gym track by miles, so I just quit at 3 miles. But now that I know that 5 km is 3.11 miles, I've got a point to fix on. |
